ZENOBIA’S HEALING JOURNEY FUND

My aunt, Zenobia, was seriously injured in a car accident on December 19, 2023, by an individual driving in the wrong direction on I4. She endured a broken collarbone, several strokes during the accident, both broken ankles, a broken femur, and an almost severed spine. She spent 50 days in the hospital and another month and a half in a rehab facility. The accident left her with over $1 million in medical bills and unable to work as she is focused on recovering.

Despite the challenges, she expresses daily gratitude to God, and we all believe she is still here for a purpose. Despite these daunting injuries, her resilient spirit shines through.

During this difficult time, my mother, Shanta, became the responsible caregiver to her sister, Zenobia. We are immensely grateful for the support of first responders, ORMC, trauma nurses and staff, and the unwavering support of friends and family.

APRIL UPDATE

As this happened over Christmas, we were able to put the tree back up, listen to Christmas music, and spend time together as a family, finding solace and strength in each other’s company.

Since then, Zenobia has made progress in her recovery journey. She has started physical therapy now that her boots are removed and continues speech therapy to remove the tracheotomy tube.

Despite the challenges, we’ve managed to find moments of joy, including mini dance parties where Zenobia jokingly tries to pop wheelies, and lots of laughter.

I will surely defend my ways to his face.”
